FAQs
Coming Soon: TSS-MPC Embedded Wallets
We announced our new TSS-MPC offering at EthDenver 2025, and its rolling out in the coming weeks - contact us for early access or to learn more. If you’re looking to start using Dynamic today, we recommend starting with our TEE wallets. When our TSS-MPC wallets are rolled out, you’ll have a clear upgrade path to transition your users to the new system.
Migration and Transition
How do I upgrade my existing users?
We’re working on seamless upgrade flows that will allow existing users to easily migrate from TEE to TSS-MPC wallets. This capability is coming soon.
When can I get TSS-MPC wallets?
Our TSS-MPC offering is rolling out in the coming weeks. If you’d like to see a demo or migrate early, reach out and we’ll make it happen.
Will there be a cost to me?
No. Dynamic’s pricing structure remains identical. There are no pricing changes, UI changes, or anything similar.
Will your TEE support be deprecated? Is the migration mandatory?
No. We expect to continue supporting all existing customers using our TEE-based wallets. New customers will use our TSS-MPC wallets, and existing customers will have paths to migrate new and existing users.
What exactly is changing in Dynamic’s embedded wallet infrastructure?
We’re evolving from TEE-based wallets to TSS-MPC wallets, which use threshold signatures and multi-party computation to enhance security and user experience. The core functionality remains the same, but with improved security, recovery options, and chain support.
Why is Dynamic migrating from TEE-based wallets to TSS-MPC wallets?
Dynamic’s TSS-MPC, represents the next evolution in wallet security and user experience. It eliminates single points of failure, provides more flexible recovery options, and enables advanced features while maintaining the same great user experience and speed. It is optimized to handle everything from thru-put trading and chains, to large capital money movements.
Technical Details
How does TSS-MPC differ from TEE-based wallets?
TSS-MPC generates cryptographic key shares that collectively enable signing operations without ever constructing a complete private key. This differs from TEE wallets which secure a complete private key within trusted hardware.
Are TSS-MPC wallets more secure than TEE-based wallets?
Both approaches are highly secure, but TSS-MPC provides additional security benefits by never constructing a complete private key, even during signing operations. It also enables more flexible recovery options and security policies.
Will TSS-MPC affect wallet performance?
No. While early MPC implementations were known for being slow, Dynamic’s TSS-MPC solution uses advanced optimizations to deliver signing speeds comparable to traditional wallets (less than a second).
User Impact
Will users notice any changes?
No. The user experience remains identical - users can continue using familiar authentication methods like email and social login while maintaining self-custody.
Will existing wallet addresses or balances be affected?
No. All assets and addresses will remain unchanged through the migration process.
What new features will users get?
Users will gain access to more flexible recovery options, including cloud backup support and custom security policies. They’ll also have access to more blockchain networks and signature schemes. We will also be adding support for agentic use cases among other exciting features. Stay tuned.
